If your child is enrolled in coverage through the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) at full-cost, then you can add them to your Pennie coverage during the next Open Enrollment Period on November 1 or if you experience another applicable qualifying life event.
If your child is enrolled in no-cost, or low-cost CHIP, then they are not eligible to enroll in coverage through Pennie because it is considered to be minimum essential coverage under federal law. CHIP provides quality health coverage with benefits structured specifically for children. For more information, about CHIP, head to chipcoverspakids.com.
