If you have already submitted an application through Pennie requesting financial assistance, you do not need to do anything to access the new benefits available under the American Rescue Plan (ARP). The American Rescue Plan was signed into law in March, yet the law impacts your eligibility for advance premium tax credits (APTC) back to the time your coverage with Pennie began. Pennie is working to ensure that you get all of the APTC you are eligible for this year. As a result, Pennie will automatically add any unused APTC from the date your coverage began to the remaining months of your 2021 coverage, in addition to the new APTC you qualify for under ARP.
If you previously requested financial assistance in your application, you will see these changes updated in your account early this summer. You can also edit/update and resubmit your Pennie application if you wish to have these changes updated in your account before this occurs.
If you did not initially request financial assistance during your enrollment, then please return to Pennie and follow the steps below to access these benefits:
Step 1: Login to your Pennie account at pennie.com
Step 2: Select ‘Edit your application’ from your Pennie account dashboard
Step 3: Select ‘Yes’ in the ‘Help Paying for Coverage’ step in your application
Note: You can navigate to this step on the panel located on the left-hand side of your application
Step 4: Follow the remaining steps to submit your updated eligibility application
NOTE: You will need to provide information about your household, including household income.
