If a Pennsylvania taxpayer and/or their spouse (if married, filing jointly) is eligible for unemployment insurance for at least one week in 2021, they can qualify for enhanced financial assistance, including advance premium tax credits (APTC) and cost sharing reductions (CSR) under ARP. If eligible, Pennie enrollees must self-attest that they are eligible for unemployment insurance when they apply for coverage through Pennie to receive additional financial assistance under the American Rescue Plan.
Make sure to complete the “Get Ready” tab under “Income Information” as shown below.
It is recommended that you hold on to any documentation provided to you by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry that indicates your eligibility (for example: an “eligibility determination notice” or any payments received) in the event you are asked for these documents when you file your 2021 taxes. If you receive unemployment from another state, that qualifies you too for the financial assistance.
