No. There is nothing in the American Rescue Plan that changes eligibility for other programs including Medicare, Medical Assistance (or Medicaid), or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). This provision impacts eligibility for advance premium tax credits (APTC) and cost sharing reductions (CSR) only. Those currently eligible for Medicaid/CHIP will remain in those programs. Those who are not, including dependent children, will not gain eligibility for these programs as a result of the American Rescue Plan.
