YES, you can add a household member to your existing coverage, or even shop for a new plan through the COVID-19 Enrollment Period by following the steps below. You can do this even if the household member had previously indicated that they were not seeking coverage.
Login to your Pennie account
Update your Pennie application by clicking “Edit Application” under “My applications”.
Click “add person” and provide the household member’s information.
Follow the remaining steps to submit your updated eligibility application
NOTE: You will need to provide information about your household, including household income.
Were you eligible for unemployment compensation in 2021? Tax filers or their spouses who were eligible for just one week of unemployment benefits in 2021 could be eligible for additional savings. Make sure to complete the “Get Ready” tab under “Income Information” as shown below.
Once your application is completed you will be presented with your 2021 Eligibility Summary. From this screen you can click “Go to My Dashboard.”
To complete your application or shop for new plans you can click “Confirm Event and Finalize Plans” from “My Dashboard.”
Click the dropdown next to each of the household members
From the drop down you will select “2021 COVID-19 Enrollment Period."
Once you have selected “2021 COVID-19 Enrollment Period” you can click continue
From “My Dashboard” click “Finalize Plans.”
From here you can either add the new member to your existing plan or you can shop for a new plan
Once you have made your plan selections you are ready to sign your application.
